The President of the Republic of Liberia and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Friday, 22 March 2024, pinned the Chief of Staff (COS) of the AFL, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Davidson Fayiah Forleh.
This historic, memorable and colorful pinning ceremony which was attended by the High Command of the AFL, family members and senior government officials took place at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.
Brig Gen Forleh enlisted in the AFL in July 2006 as a member of First Batch (Class) and for about 18 unbroken years served the AFL with due diligence. He is the third senior officer of the First Batch to serve as Chief of Staff of the AFL. As an experienced and outstanding military officer, Brig Gen Forleh has completed all military courses that commensurate with his rank and appointment, including national and international seminars. Key among these courses are: The Basic School (TBS) – Quantico, Virginia, United States of America; Shijiazhuang Mechanized Infantry – People’s Republic of China; Junior Staff Course (JSC) – Horton Academy, Republic of Sierra Leone; Passed Staff Course (PSC) – Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna, Federal Republic of Nigeria; and Executive Seminar on Human Rights and International Legal Studies – Accra, Ghana.
Besides, Brig Gen Forleh has a concrete and undisputed civil education that includes but not limited to the following: Masters in International Affairs and Strategic Studies – Nigerian Defense Academy; Bachelor in Business Administration – University of Liberia; Certificate in Public Sector Management – Institute of Public Administration and Management – Republic of Sierra Leone; and Certificate in Professional Manager – Nigeria Institute of Management, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Brig Gen Forleh meritoriously grew through the ranks and file of the AFL and as such held several key appointments nationally and internationally. Some of these appointments include: Chief of Staff – Armed Forces of Liberia, Present Appointment; Commanding General – 23th Infantry Brigade, Commandant – Armed Forces Training Command; Defense Attaché – African Union Commission/ United Nations Economic Commission for Africa – Addis Ababa. Ethiopia; and Chief of Personnel (U-1) – United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
Brig Gen Forleh is a Christian and family man. For over 23 years, he is married to Mrs. Annie S. Forleh and the union is blessed with 3 children.
