AFL GETS NEW INSTRUCTORS

BARCLAY TRAINING CENTER, MONROVIA-  11 FEBRUARY 2023: With the support of a UK Short Term Training Team (UKSTTT) and the UK Peace Support Team (Africa), the  Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) now has 11 new Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED) instructors and 8 new Team Medic instructors, ready to pass on their knowledge to the AFL Quick Reaction Force (QRF) company soon to deploy to Mali under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

The Officer Commanding the UK Short Term Training Team (STTT) – Captain Furse – said, “Both the C-IED and Medical training packages went extremely well. This was down to both the enthusiastic, creative and profession instruction of Corporal Davies & Private Walker, & the engagement from the students who fully understood the importance of the qualification they now hold in preparing AFL soldiers to deploy on Operations.

This is not to mention the wholeheartedly warm welcome we have received from all AFL personnel and the support we have had to deliver this training. We now thoroughly look forward to delivering further training over the next two weeks.”

Additionally, with the support of a UKSTTT and the  UK Peace Support Team (Africa), AFL enjoyed an early morning Physical Training (PT) session, patrolling, and occupation & defense of a Forward Operating Base (FOB), all in preparation for deployment in Mali, under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
