Augustine Larmin

Honorable T. Augustine Larmin is the Assistant Minister for Plans, Policy and Operations at the Ministry of National Defense. Minister Larmin comes to this portfolio with lot of experiences. Prior to his appointment, he served as Acting Assistant Minister for Administration for over a year. Assistant Minister Larmin joined the Defense family in 2006 at an entry level and was subsequently promoted to the position of Deputy Director for the Department of Plans, and Policy. He has since then served in other positions such as Special Assistant to the Deputy Minister for Administration, Director for the Department of Materiel, Acquisition, Logistics and Transport (D-MALT).

In 2011 and 2013, he was honored by the Ministry of National Defense as the “Most Outstanding Employee of the Year” and “Director of the Year” respectively.

Before coming to the Ministry, he served as President of the Student Council Government at the African Methodist Episcopal University, 34 Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia. As Student Council President, he played active roles in both the Federation of Liberian Youths (FLY) and the Liberian National Students Union between 2003 to 2005. In 2006, he served as Chief Executive Officer for City Logistics, a Vehicle Rental Service.

Honorable holds double masters: Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Liberia and Master in Public Sector Management from the Cuttington University. He obtained several certificates and diplomas in the following areas: Defense and Strategic Studies, National Defense University, the People’s Republic of China, Security Sector Reform, Department of War Studies, Kings College University, London, Emerging Leaders in Security Sector, National Defense University, Washington D.C., USA and Concept of Budgeting in the Military, Monterey, California, USA.

In 2011 and 2013, the Assistant Defense Minister Plans, Policy and Operations was honored by the Ministry of National Defense as the “Most Outstanding Employee of the Year” and “Director of the Year” respectively.

The office of Assistant Minister for Plans, Policy and Operations is charged with the responsibilities of the development of general plans, policies, regulations and strategic operational plans at the Ministry of National Defense.

The Office of the Assistant Minister for Plans, Policy and Operations supervises two departments: the Department of Sports and Recreations and the Department of Operations.
