BARCLAY TRAINING CENTER, MONROVIA- 13 SEPTEMBER 2023: The Chief of Staff (COS) of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), Major General Prince C. Johnson III, lauded three (3) AFL Officers for their performances in the 2022 Officer’s Promotion Exam (PROMEX) on 13 September 2022 at the AFL’s Headquarters.

Capt. Alvin Hayes, Capt. Milton Gwyan and Capt. Anthony Tarpeh were the first, second and third top scorers respectively, in the “Captain to Major” category of the PROMEX and will be promoted to the rank of Major along with other class mates who successfully pass the exam.

In recognition of their brilliance and dedication, the COS presented letters of commendation and the invaluable COS Commendation coin to each of the officers.

Promotion Exams are administered to Officers ranging from First Lieutenant to Major as one of the eligibility requirements for promotion to the next higher rank.

It measures the officer’s academic, tactical, and leadership abilities to assume responsibility for the next higher rank.
