JOHNSON, Joseph F.

Deputy Minister of Defense for Administration (DMA)

 

Honorable Joseph F. Johnson is the Deputy Minister of National Defense for Administration (DMA) and the principal deputy to the Minister. With over twenty years of experience in the area of Finance and Management, he brings to the table his expertise to continue the work of his predecessors.

 

Upon his graduation from the College of West Africa in 1984, he enrolled at the then Cuttington University College. In 1988, he transferred to the University of Liberia and graduated in 1989 with Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting. In 2003, Honorable Johnson obtained an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management (a DeVry University) in Atlanta Georgia.

 

His military background also prepared him for the job. Honorable Joseph F. Johnson was enlisted in the US army in 1997. He went through his Basic and Advanced military training at Fort Jackson, USA. He was later assigned with the United States Special Operations Command and was honorably retired in 2004 from the US army. Before and after his military life, he worked in several institutions in the financial area including Oxford Industries as a Senior Corporate Accountant in Atlanta Georgia.

 

His latest assignment was Comptroller at the Ministry of Agriculture, Liberia.

 

Before the Ministry of Agriculture Honorable Johnson worked with the Cocopa Rubber Plantation as head of the Interim Management Team in Nimba County.

 

He also served as the first Security Manager  of the Liberian Agriculture Company (LAC) in Grand Bassa County.
